Albin A. Herman, 86, of Bayville, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Thursday December 25, 2014 at the Hampton Ridge Nursing Home in Toms River. Albin was born in Jersey City on October 2, 1928. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a retired Deputy Chief of Police in the Jersey City police department where he served for 36 years. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University, and the FBI academy’s leadership training program. He taught for many years at the Jersey City police academy. Albin is predeceased by his parents Carl and Mary, his beloved wife Joan of 40 years, and his brothers Edward and Victor as well as his sister Estelle Sozanski. Albin is survived by his loving children Cheryl Allen and her husband Edward of Middletown, Gary Herman of Bayville, Laura Gough of Toms River, Glen Herman and his wife Lisa of Richlands, N.C. and Scott Herman of Union City N.J.
