Theresa Rogero Ferlisi wrote; “My dad, Gene Rogero, retired after 30 years in the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He was extremely proud of his service to his country and shared many wonderful stories with his family about his years in the Navy. He always looked forward to getting together with his fellow servicemen and their wives over the years and enjoyed catching up on everyone’s news at the reunions. His death on September 15, 2011 from a heart attack at 89 years of age was shocking to his family as he bowled twice a week with our mom, still cut the grass and maintained his home in Sanford, Florida, was a lead usher at his church, and seemed a vision of health. We miss him, his wisdom and wonderful sense of humor every day.”
