“Duane Alfred Du Puis known to friends and family as “”Dupy”” was born on August 31, 1933 in Vancouver, Washington to Pearl (Wright) Du Puis and Alfred Du Puis. He passed on March 23, 2016 in Tillamook,Oregon.

Duane spent 4 years serving in the United States Navy. It was then that he met and married Louise Caprio in Brunswick,Maine in 1956. They moved to Vancouver, Washington and had 3 children Scott Du Puis, Michelle Courser, William Du Puis. He graduated from Clark Community College in Vancouver and became a police officer and later a detective sergeant serving 17 years on the Vancouver Police Department, some of his accomplishments were being the only Polygraph Technician and head of the Narcotics Division.

In 1976 he moved to Tillamook Oregon and married Verleta Norberg in 1977 settling in Bay City,Oregon. He sold real estate and then became a locksmith and owned a locksmith store in Tillamook. Together Duane and Verleta owned several businesses in Tillamook and also The Landing Tavern and Restaurant in Bay City,Oregon.

He was a member of the American Legion,The Tillamook Elks,Tillamook Eagles,and theTillamook Moose lodges.

After retiring Duane and Verleta traveled the world visiting many countries and he had been in all 50 states. He enjoyed camping,dice games,and woodworking.

Duane is survived by his 3 children,and Step-Daughters Karen Jones (Norberg) and spouse Ed , and Lisa Norberg. He had 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by siblings Robert,Elaine,Janice,and Jerry. Also by daughter Nancy
